What is a caption text?

Caption text is brief description, heading, or title that identifier or introduces a document, graphic, photograph, or table.

Generic structure of caption

1.      The title

2.      The lead

3.      Section Heading

Language Features

1.      Exclamation

2.      Question

3.      Adjective Phrase

4.      Personal Phrase

What is the caption function?

Helping readers or viewers to understand more information that might not be in photos or videos.

Rule of Writing a caption?

1.      Supply specific information (Answering 5W1H Question)

2.      User present tense on the first sentence

3.      Caption are written in a complete sentences

4.      Clearly identify the people and location in the photo

5.      Identify the person from left to right

How to a write caption text?

1.      Observe the picture or video you will give the caption

2.      Find out the message that will be sent from the picture before you write caption

3.      Write sentence or phrase under the picture

  The origin of Surabaya Once upon a time, in the northern part of  East Java , there lived a scary giant crocodile. He was the ruler of the river and a predator who was feared by all the animals in the forest near the river.The name of the crocodile was Baya. He was very good at hunting, so all of the animals in the jungle were afraid of him. Baya lived in a river. In the sea, there lived a wild shark named Sura. He ruled the sea, and every fish were scared of him. However, Sura felt bored because he ate fish every day. He was curious about the river near the sea. One day he decided to go to the river. At the side of the river, there was a deer that was drinking water. Sura felt hungry, so he swam silently to the edge and jumped out to catch the deer. Sura was happy to get such delicious food.   BIOGRAFI OF NAJWA SHIHAB      Najwa Shihab commonly called Nana is a television news anchor and reporter, achievers and professionals. Nana was born in Makassar, South Sulawesi, September 16, 1977. Najwa is the second daughter of Quraish Shihab, a former Minister of religious affairs in the era of the seventh development Cabinet. At the 20 years old, Nana was young married with Ibrahim Assegaf, and she already had a boy called Izzat (6 years old).
